FAQS

I’m in-network with Lyra Health/EAP only.
For all other insurances, I am an out-of-network provider and do not receive payment from insurance companies. This means I am not contracted with any insurance companies. Once a card is one file, payment is processed on the day of the session.
I can provide a monthly superbill receipt that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement, if your insurance allows for it. Contact your insurance to determine whether you have mental health benefits, number of session covered, deductible and rate of reimbursement.
I accept all major credit cards and HSA and FSA cards.
The benefit of receiving out-of-network services is that your treatment is not dictated by tight restraints of managed care companies. Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis for payment, depending on the insurance they may require a report showing proof that you still meet criteria for that diagnosis (or continue to be “sick”). This means someone is reading that report, as if that person were in our session. This may or may not be helpful to many clients.

Under law, all health care providers, including mental health therapists, and health care facilities licensed, certified, or approved by the state are required to provide good faith estimates of expected charges for services and items offered to uninsured and self-pay consumers.
A good faith estimate is a notification of expected charges for a scheduled or requested item or services. The expected charge for an item or services is the cash pay rate or the rate established by a provider for an uninsured or self-pay patient.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 368-1019

Yes. It is absolutely normal to feel nervous before starting therapy. Most people struggle to talk about their deepest concerns, thoughts, and feelings, so it makes sense you feel this way. Please know you are allowed to experience and express all of yourself in therapy, including how nervous you are. Therapy is a safe space.

Our first session is where I like to hear about your concerns in depth. This involves me asking a number of precise questions to have a clear understanding of what is going on in your life. I also love to learn about your family history, as it can be insightful in many ways. Expect questions about your family, friends, life experiences, etc.

Sex Therapy is the process of addressing topics related to sex and sexuality with a trained mental health therapist who has taken more training and/or courses outside basic human sexuality. Sex therapy also involves addressing mental health concerns (depression, anxiety, etc.) and how they impact sexual functioning or dysfunction.
